The EUROCONTROL Provisional Council Bureau Meeting was held in Istanbul on May 7, 2026.
Operating under the Provisional Council, EUROCONTROL’s highest decision-making body, the Bureau is an important platform that guides EUROCONTROL’s future activities, evaluates general policy implementation, and monitors its operations.
Hosted by our Organization’s Deputy General Manager and EUROCONTROL Provisional Council Vice Chair Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, the meeting addressed key issues concerning the future of European aviation, while also reviewing EUROCONTROL’s ongoing work and the roadmap for the coming period.
The meeting was attended by EUROCONTROL Director General Raul Medina Caballero, Provisional Council Chair Karin Puleo-Leodolter, Provisional Council Vice Chair Julian Rotter, EUROCONTROL Standing Commission Vice Chair Michael Lokay, ECAC President Alessio Quaranta, EUROCONTROL Staff Representative Enrique Fraile Riesco, as well as representatives from Spain David Benito Astudillo, France Chemseddine Chkioua, the Netherlands Henri van Fassen, the United Kingdom Ian Elston, Albania Maksim Et’hemaj, and Ukraine Daniil Menshykov.
As part of the program, Bureau members also visited the Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Control Tower. During the visit, information was shared regarding air traffic management processes at Istanbul Airport, which hosts one of Europe’s busiest air traffic flows, as well as our country’s practices in this field.
