Dr. Fatih Çakmak, who was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the State Airports Authority (DHMI), has taken over the position from Enes Çakmak.
Prior to the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Enver İskurt and Director General for Personnel Necmiye Leyla Akıncı visited DHMİ and met with Enes Çakmak and Dr. Fatih Çakmak, wishing the new era to be auspicious.
The ceremony, held in the Blue Hall of DHMI Headquarters, was attended by Board Member and Deputy General Manager Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, Deputy General Manager Selami Yapıcı, department heads, and many staff members.
In his farewell speech at the ceremony, Enes Çakmak congratulated Dr. Fatih Çakmak, who is taking over the role, and said:
“I sincerely believe that, thanks to the strong solidarity and team spirit prevailing in our institution, DHMI and Turkish civil aviation will raise the bar of success much higher. Today, I leave this post with inner peace, seeing that DHMI has become a pioneering organization on a global scale and that Türkiye has become a central country with a voice in world aviation.”
Stating that they had achieved significant goals in a short time at great speed, Çakmak said:
“On the one hand, while carrying out major projects, we also brought our citizens together with airports equipped with the latest technology and offering high comfort. We shared the happiness of making air transport accessible for everyone. Not only in aviation operations, but also across all our support units, we achieved international successes and awards. I would like to thank all my colleagues who contributed to this journey of success, and I wish Dr. Fatih Çakmak endless success in his new duty.”
Dr. Fatih Çakmak, who took over the post, also thanked Enes Çakmak in his speech and said:
“I would like to thank Mr. Enes Çakmak, with whom we have carried out important work together for many years, for his contributions and efforts to our organization, and I wish him success in his future life. Our aviation sector is one of the most critical pillars of our country’s global vision and the goals of the Türkiye Century. We will strive with all our strength to preserve and further advance the global leadership our country has achieved in the aviation sector. May God grant us the opportunity to provide beneficial service to our homeland and nation.”
